On Sunday, May 5, the Cardinal Singers and 8th grade Men in Black will sing the Star Spangled Banner at the Toledo Mudhens game. The game is at 1pm, and we will stay to watch the game after. Parents and families are invited, and while we only have 1 bus, there will be limited space to bring non-singers along. Families and groups are encouraged to come and see the game at a really great price - only $13 per ticket. Please let Mr. Martin know how many tickets you need no later than MONDAY, APRIL 22. If you need a few days longer to get your ticket money in, that's ok - but please send it by FRIDAY, APRIL 26. We need a large group of at least 75 to go, so please plan on a fun family outing! At the park, of course, concessions will be served, and hopefully we will see some great baseball! Questions? Email or Remind message Mr. Martin.
The students going the Cedar Point trip with Mr. Martin (not Mrs. Farmer) are published on the Cedar Point Trip page. Please check the list for accuracy and inform Mr. Martin of any errors you may see.

The West Chorus has 2 busses with 56 seats each for our Cedar Point trip – and all seats have been filled at this time. A waitlist has been started, and as previously reserved seats are vacated, the spots will be filled from the waitlist (with 6 students on it already.). Here is what you need to know:
WAIT LIST (4/8/19, 10am)
If you are on the wait list, you may request a refund. I will hold funds until they are moved into empty seats or when parents request. Alternately, you can request a ticket only if you want to drive separately.
Money owed by April 12
A reminder that being suspended out of school during the rest of the year will disqualify students from the trip – it is essential that each student exercise good behavior choices or risk losing their trip!
The West Chorus just attended the Michigan Opera Theater Children's Chorus performance of "The Secret World of OG," which featured two West Chorus students, Elizabeth Garcia and Elizabeth Pryer. If you are interested in auditioning to be a part of the MOTCC's 2019-20 season, here's the information you need. Once you have decided to audition, Mr. Martin can help you prepare your audition, and if you are accepted, he will work to find scholarship options to help fund your tuition. Act soon, because preparation is key!
From the MOTCC: Have you ever dreamed of singing in front of an audience? Have you wondered what happens behind the curtains backstage? Are you a young vocalist who would enjoy the opportunity to learn from professional instructors? This incredible experience could happen for you right here at the Detroit Opera House!
The choristers of the Michigan Opera Theatre Children’s Chorus (MOTCC) represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experience, but all share a passion for singing and music. As a member of MOTCC you’ll connect to our “musical family” and make new friends.
We rehearse every Monday night from September to April. MOTCC mounts two major performances each season: A Winter Fantasy, the annual December showcase concert, and a full scale opera in the spring, which is performed solely by the children’s chorus. Frequently, opportunities arise for choristers to perform with the MOT mainstage international singers, directors, and conductors too!
Children between the ages of 8 and 16 who love to sing are invited to audition for the Michigan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus.
Auditions will take place on May 18, May 20, and June 2 at the Detroit Opera House.
