CEDAR POINT TRIP • 6.3.2019 • FINAL INFO

Meeting Time:
Be at the West Middle School Cafeteria at 7:45am. The busses will leave at 8:00am sharp. Students can ride the bus to school as usual.  If possible, chaperones should be dropped off, so their car is not left at West – there is limited parking available. Chaperones check in at the office first.

Return Time:
We will arrive back at West Middle School at 10pm. Please arrange to be picked up at West. Students must ride the bus back from Cedar Point unless already prearranged in writing.

You Need:
Money for lunch and dinner ($25 minimum), clothing appropriate for a school event and the weather. SUNBLOCK! Cell phones are okay to bring, as are iPods or portable game systems to be used with headphones only.  You may bring snacks for the bus (re-sealable containers only), but the bus MUST be kept clean.  Also, bring PG-13,PG or G rated movieson DVD.  EVERYONE should have a watch or phone to keep on time!

** WEAR & RE-APPLY SUNSCREEN – EVEN OVERCAST DAYS CAN BURN**

Bus Behavior:
Chaperones enter busses with their kids.  Chaperones should sit throughout the bus to keep problems at a minimum. Pick one seat, and stay in that seat for the entire journey.  We will know if you are back on the bus when we see your seat is occupied.

Arrival:
Do not exit the bus until Mr. Martin and Mrs. Farmer give permission.  You will get your ticket as you exit the bus.  When we enter the park, please notice where the midway splash pad is – you will meet there at 3pm.

At The Park:
7/8th:
You must stay with at least one person from West.  You are not to be alone at any time!
6th: You must remain with your chaperone and group. Groups can combine or be joined by 7th-8thgraders.

Wristbands:
Each person will get a wristband for free fountain drinks.  DRINK WATER!!!

Check In:
At exactly3pm, we will meet at the midway splash pad.  Find your chaperone and check in with them.  We will take our group photo.  If everyone is there, you will be free until our 7:30 departure.

Emergencies:
For any emergencies, go to a first aid station, or ask ANY Cedar Point employee, and the first aid station will contact your teacher.

Departure:
At 7:30 SHARP, everyone should BE ON THE BUSSES. Mr. Martin or Mrs. Farmer will be at the front of the park to direct you by 7pm.  Students meet chaperones, and we will leave the park together.

At All Times:
Behave in a way that represents our school and your teachers well!  Make good decisions, and be polite and nice.  The trip is an opportunity to make friends – don’t ruin it by being unkind!  Any behavior problems on the trip will be dealt with according to the Student Code of Conduct.

CHAPERONE INFORMATION

AS WE BOARD:
Meet the kids below your name on the opposite side of this sheet.  If you miss them, find them on the bus.

ON THE BUS:
The busses will be very full, one person to a seat only. This is where you are needed to help kids make good decisions.  If kids are rowdy, ask them to quiet or change their seats.  Please only play G, PG, or PG-13rated movies, there will be a teacher in charge of the bus.  If any one chaperone objects to a movie, please don’t show it.

ARRIVAL:
Corral your assigned kids – stay with them to give them their tickets. Once you’ve entered the park, 7th/8thgraders are free to go off as they please, as long as no one is alone, but 6thgraders must remain with a chaperone and group at all times.

WEATHER:
We will remain at the park UNLESS the park itself closes – which they rarely do. Seek shelter if the weather becomes too intense, and encourage kids to do the same.

At 3pm:
Meet at the MIDWAY SPLASH PAD.  Please be prompt and use your checklist to find your kids.  Once you’ve seen them all, let Mr. Martin or Mrs. Farmer know.  WE WILL TAKE A GROUP PHOTO, students and chaperones, at 3pm at the fountain.  After our photo, you are free to go back into the park.

At 7:15:
Make your way toward the bus in the parking lot.  You do not need to wait for your group to arrive, all should just go to the bus.  We will leave at 7:30.

RAIN/LIGHTNING:
Find shelter. With any luck, the rain will pass and we can resume our day without further interruption.  If the rides remain closed for over an hour, meet up at the front of the park, near the locker area just to the side of the main entrance.

Have fun!
